New music from meditative heavy hitters Group Listening(Stephen Black aka Sweet Baboo & Paul Jones) who have been working on a follow up to their stunning debut. Clarinet & Piano: Selected Works, Vol.1 was a haunting, reflective and lovingly considered selection box of musical reworkings. It featured reimagined tracks by the likes of Arthur Russell, Brian Eno and Robert Wyatt.
Fast forward a couple of years and the band have collaborated with Lampchop, Ed Dowie and Cate Le Bon, released a 12” of Fatima Yamaha rework, have toured with Gruff Rhys, performed at Green Man festival, Le Guess Who, End of the Road and are set to open for Teenage Fanclub soon.
Their second long player, due for release early 2022 features piano and clarinet takes on Laraaji, Beverly-Glenn Copeland and Niger synth pioneer Mamman Sani and many more.
